THIS year’s Westbury Transport and Vintage Gathering will be held on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th April at Top Field, Westbury Road, Bratton.
Organisers are encouraging people to get involved with this year’s event, and to come along and see the exhibits, or to bring their own classic vehicles along.
Organiser Keith Miller is hoping for sunshine this year, after last year’s event was cut short by torrential rain.
Keith said, “We’re hoping the weather will be kind this year and bring people out to make it a great day. We pride ourselves on having a laid back event where people can just turn up and enjoy themselves.
“This year we will have a variety of vehicles including stationary engines, miniature steam, and a Leyland Hippo from the 1940s which should be very special.
“We’ve had our ups and downs since we started 22 years ago, but it’s been a steady growth process, and we’re quite well known in the circuit; we have exhibitors this year from as far afield as Cornwall and Glasgow. Plus the Saturday last year was the only day we have ever had to cancel, and I think that’s a pretty good track record!”
There will be a wide range of exhibits at the gathering, and visitors will see many types of classic and vintage vehicles, including cars, fire engines, military vehicles, tractors, motorcycles, and agricultural and horticultural machinery to name just a few.
Admission is £2 for adults and free for children. Parking is free or you can use the number 87 bus, which runs through Trowbridge, Westbury, Bratton, and Devizes.
