Tributes are pouring in following the sudden death of Westbury and District League of Friends chair, Jenny Clements.
Jenny was an active member of many local groups including the British Legion and the twinning association, and was secretary of the United Reformed Church and was on the governing body of three schools.
Erica Watson, vice-chair of the League of Friends, said, “Jenny’s many friends in the community will miss her, not only personally but also for her dedication to supporting the town and surrounding area by her charity work.
“Her presence and support at local charitable events over many decades will be very much missed.
“The League of Friends committee will greatly miss Jenny’s leadership and extensive knowledge of the history of Westbury, the town which she so generously supported for so many years.”
Headteacher of Westbury Infant School, Stacey Budge said, “Everyone at Westbury Infant School is extremely saddened to hear of Jenny Clements’ sudden death. She has been a wonderful support as chair of governors and has given many hours of her time to serve the children of Westbury.Jenny was a inspirational leader and a force to be reckoned with. She has made a difference to the lives and education of many children over the years and will be sorely missed.”
Chair of governors at Matravers School, Guy Davies said, “Jenny was a great servant to Matravers School. She was the vice-chair to the governing board and the chair for the Every Child Matters committee. She will be greatly missed.”
