Two people have been arrested after police officers were bitten while attending a domestic incident in Westbury in the early hours of Monday 12th November.
Police report, “We were called to an address in Palomino Place, in Westbury Leigh, at around 1.30am today (Monday 12 November 2018) due to concerns about the welfare of a couple who were arguing.
“When officers arrived they found a highly-intoxicated man and woman who were behaving aggressively, both towards each other and towards the attending officers.
“The man had suffered a minor injury to his shoulder, which had been caused by a knife.
“While they were transporting the woman to custody, two officers were bitten on their hands, suffering minor injuries which did not require medical treatment.”
A/Sgt Jemma Humphreys, from Wiltshire West Community Policing Team said, “Once again we have had officers subjected to violence while they are simply out doing their job and trying to keep the public safe.
“Luckily, neither of the officers was seriously injured, but it is completely unacceptable for them to be assaulted in this way.”
A 29-year-old woman from Westbury was arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and two counts of assaulting a police officer.
A 36-year-old man from Westbury was arrested on suspicion of assault by beating.
