Sunday 2nd Jan. Hellenic League Premier Division Hereford Lads Club 0 Westbury United 2
UNITED clinched their fourth win in a row and their 12th game unbeaten with an impressive 2-0 win away at Hereford Lads Club.
Second half goals from Harvey Flippance and Sam Jordan clinched the three points which moved United up to seventh in the league, with games in hand on all the sides above them.
Another clean sheet also meant United have kept six clean sheets in those 12 games.
“It’s a great run the lads are on,” said the club’s Andy Bown. “They’re really full of confidence, even though the team changes are being required week to week due to injury/Covid.
“The team/squad spirit is very strong and results such as beating table topping Bishops Cleeve 5-2 shows how far they’ve come!
“After beating Hereford 2-0 we are just four points behind second placed Westfields who we play away at the weekend.
“We’ve also got the cup match against Swindon Town to look forward to on the 18th January.
“The Swindon match is an exciting prospect; the Swindon team will probably be a mixture of young players and others who are regularly substitutes for the First Team. It’s a great opportunity for the lads to test themselves against professional players.”
