Sat 12th Nov. Southern League Division One South. Totton 5 – 3 Westbury United
WESTBURY United fell to defeat in an eight-goal thriller at Totton’s Snow Stadium earlier in the month.
Both teams marked Remembrance with players wearing black armbands. Totton went one-nil up thanks to a smart finish on four minutes and before Westbury could properly regroup, they found themselves two-nil down.
Totton scored their third thanks to a glancing header in the 18th minute. Just before half-time United pulled one back through a lovely ball from Mathew Morris who set up Charlie Walton for a tidy finish. United made one change at half time with Ryan Bole replacing Ashton Shanley.
Walton got his second thanks to a goal-mouth scramble and reduced Westbury’s deficit to one-goal. Totton scored their fourth goal in the 64th minute but it only took two minutes for Westbury to hit back again thanks to Gary Higdon poking the ball into the bottom-right corner.
Totton put the game to bed following a deflection in the dying moments to make it 5-3. United battled hard in the second half but it was Totten who walked away with the three points.
