Cllr Jane Russ will be running her upcycling clothes workshops for four Wednesdays from Wednesday 8th May at 2pm in the Reading Room at The Laverton.
“We’re really lucky to have a facility like this at the Laverton,” says Jane, “the light is wonderful and the room has tables and plug sockets all the way around. We’re starting with four but I’m hoping it will continue beyond that, we have to see what happens.
“Anybody coming does not need to bring anything at all for the first session but I’m hoping they might like bring their own machines later on – we will sort having them Pac Tested at no cost; health and safety you know.
“The image here is of a cardigan made from an expensive Amorlux Breton t-shirt. My husband wears these all the time in the summer and when he couldn’t get into this one but it was only a year old, it was my opportunity to have a go at a really radical remake. I have to say I was rather pleased with the end result.”
