Penleigh Skate Park was targeted by vandalism this month, with graffiti sprayed on the ramps and a litter bin set on fire.
The town council expressed disappointment following the incident, which took place on the evening of Monday 16th September, and confirmed that newly installed CCTV cameras in Penleigh Park captured footage of the event.
In a statement, Westbury Town Council said, “We can confirm that the cameras have captured images of three boys adding graffiti to the ramps and setting one of the litter bins on fire. The fire resulted in the fire service being called.”
The skate park’s ramp surfaces were freshly painted in July 2024 to help cover unwanted graffiti, and thanks to this preparation, the town’s Community Ranger, David, has been able to repaint and cover most of the damage.
