The meeting on October 9th took the form of a Nostalgia Quiz.
Fifty questions about the personalities, entertainment and current events of the 1940s, 50s and 60s certainly caused memories to work hard. The teams were very competitive, answers eagerly awaited and the winners scored well over 90%. The quiz, ably organised, at very short notice replaced the planned talk on the American Museum. It is hoped that this event can be rescheduled when the speaker has recovered from a broken elbow.
The meeting heard of plans to visit Christmas Markets at Salisbury on December 13th, as well as a lunch outing on the day of the December meeting, 11th. Booking forms and menu choice are available from the social secretary. Lifts can be arranged for those who do not drive, please let Anne Thompson know if you can offer or need a lift.
Members were again reminded of the need to complete data protection forms, the committee would appreciate any stragglers as soon as possible.
Our next meeting is on November 13th when we will hear about the experiences of a wildlife photographer. The meeting will start at 2pm at the United Reformed Church hall, do join us, you will be very welcome
