A WESTBURY boxer has ended the year on a high with his second professional win in a row.
Local man, Anthony Fox, who has been boxing for five years, beat Wayne Ingram on Friday 1st December, bringing to an end Ingram’s run of three undefeated fights as a professional.
Anthony said, “I got a call to fight with only a week’s notice against Wayne Ingram, who as an amateur boxed for England several times. He was also twice the junior national ABA champion, three times Tri-Nations champion and was 3-0 as a professional.
“After four hard, tough and entertaining rounds, I was announced the winner with a score card of 39-38.
“I am now going into 2018 off the back of two wins and chasing that Southern Area title.
“My next fight is possibly in Frome on March 2nd, I would also like to say a big thank you to Michelle Bateman who recently sponsored me, which is a massive help.”
