There are a series of events coming up in the lead up to Christmas hosted by Westbury Choral Society.
Under its conductor Luke Pickett and with accompanist Rob Danter the choir will be presenting their Christmas Concert at Westbury Methodist Church on Friday 15th December, commencing at 7.30pm. The programme will include arrangements of both familiar and lesser-known Christmas music, organ and trumpet solos, seasonal readings and congregational carols.
Programmes are £8 ( accompanied children free with a programme) and are available from Westbury Visitor Centre, members or on the door (subject to availability).
The choir will also be singing at the Carol Service at West Wilts Crematorium on 7th December and supporting the annual Carol Festival at Imber on Saturday 23rd December.
After a short Christmas break, rehearsals will start on Wednesday 10th January for the Spring Concert in April which will be a showcase of choral works from Bach to Bernstein.
Rehearsals are held at Westbury Methodist Church from 7.30pm to 9.30pm. New members in all voice parts are welcome. No audition is required although some sight reading ability is helpful, but not essential.
The Choral Society would also like to give thanks to those who visited their coffee morning on 25th November. It was well supported and raised over £165 for society funds.
