Dance, music, a sprinkle of comedy and a few surprises will bring Christmas to life in Westbury on the evening of Saturday 1st December.
As part of a day of seasonal fun, which includes a Christmas Market, children’s funfair, Santa’s grotto and the town’s Christmas Tree Festival, an evening of spectacular entertainment is planned for the town.
Special guests will include Father Christmas, and the town’s Christmas lights will be switched on at 7pm.
Westbury Town Council has urged locals to allow extra time to get to the event as it is likely to be very popular.
Town mayor Ian Cunningham said. “We’ve laid on some fantastic entertainment this year and we also have plenty of food and refreshments being sold from a number of vendors in the Market Place. We look forward to the community coming together for this very special annual event.
“The whole town will be open with seasonal activities taking place in the Market Place, Westbury High Street, Maristow Street, the Parish Hall and All Saints Church. We plan a Christmas celebration event to remember! We all hope you can join us.”
Westbury Town Council has been working with Leander Morales of Gm3 Music on the packed day and evening of seasonal celebrations.
“It’s been great working on this production with the team at the town council,” said Leander. “We’ve all spent a lot of time behind the scenes to create something special for the people of Westbury and I hope we are able to rise above and beyond people’s expectations.
“This isn’t just about switching on the Christmas lights, it’s about people coming together for one night to celebrate the town that they live in, to celebrate being a part of a community.”
A large stage and screen will be set up in the Market Place, and highlights for the event include…
