WESTBURY and District Cricket Club has registered to become an All Stars Cricket Centre, in the hope of bringing the game to more children across the area.
All Stars Cricket is an initiative from the England and Wales Cricket Board, aimed at providing children aged five to eight with a great first experience in cricket.
It will provide boys and girls the opportunity to take part in an eight-week course. The activity and game-based programme is suitable for all skills levels, providing children with the foundations of cricket and the chance to make new friends.
The course will start on Friday 11th May at 6pm-7pm at Leighton Recreation Sports Centre and will cost £40 for the whole course, finishing on Friday 29th June. The price also includes a personalised kit bag for every player, which includes a cricket bat, ball, activity book, personalised shirt and cap.
Programme activator, Paul Gainey said, “We hope to bring the game of cricket to more of the children in Westbury and surrounding areas. It started last summer and was a huge success, so we hope to continue this growing initiative in our town.”
