In a rain affected game, Westbury lost the toss but were put into bat, opening with Richard Mills and Jared McDonald.
The pair scored quickly before Mills was unluckily run out when his drive down the wicket clipped the bowler’s fingers and hit the stumps.
McDonald was joined by Daniel Gibbs and they took the total to 110 in fine style before Gibbs played on and was out for 45.
Dan Gill then came to crease and with McDonald, they hit a brilliant 141 in 77 minutes to take the score past 250.
Two runs later Gill was out caught behind by the keeper for an impressive 71.
McDonald was then joined by Andy Carroll and they took the total up to 256 before McDonald was out for 112, made off 130 balls in 169 mins.
At the close of the innings Westbury had reached 268 for 5 off 49 overs.
A massive rainstorm then meant that over an hour was lost and the game was reduced to 21 overs with Malmesbury facing a target of 118.
Excellent bowling from the Westbury attack kept Malmesbury under pressure and they never looked like reaching the required run rate.
Malmesbury reached 73 for 5 off 21 overs, falling short by 45 runs, Westbury winning by 5 wickets.
Alex Senneck took 2-12 off 8 overs and Richard Oakley 2-31 off 6 overs.
The win takes Westbury up to 5th place. Next up is Devizes away on Saturday 2nd July and Great Bedwyn home on Saturday 9th.
