WESTBURY Golf Club held its Seniors Captain’s Day at the White Horse Country Park last month raising over £400 for Cancer Research UK.
George Henderson, MBE, Seniors Captain said, “Firstly I would like to thank all of those 46 people who attended Captain’s Day in support of Cancer Research UK, the comments I received throughout the day would seem that everybody enjoyed themselves.
“With fantastic weather and the course in perfect condition it led to a fun day raising some money for a very worthy cause.
“A big thank you must go to Hannah and the team at White Horse Country Park for looking after us and providing a lovely barbecue to round off the day, also to Rob, our green keeper for the support he gave and finally thanks also goes to Rodney Poolman, Dave Gilbert and Malc Stone for the sterling work they did on the day helping him organise the event and getting people to dog deep in their pockets.
“£432.40 was raised for the charity through donations, the raffle and the auction of a 300cl bottle of Bacardi and a great day was had by all and everyone is already looking forward to next year’s.”
