The children at Westbury Junior School had some very exciting guests visit their classrooms on Monday 18th May.
Eirwen Quinney, a member of Avon Bats Group, was kind enough to bring in two pipistrelle bats for the children to see. The guest speaker talked to the children about the conservation work she does, how bats hunt and what to do if they should ever find an injured bat.
The children were fascinated by these tiny creatures and had a whole host of questions to ask.
Class teacher Rebecca Young said, “This was a wonderful experience and gave the children a chance to get up close to an animal they may not have seen in the wild.”
