Westbury Leigh’s year six pupils performed their annual leavers play, ‘Going for Gold’ to their family and friends earlier this month.
The performance was an Olympic themed production in which a modern day Olympic family have flashbacks to ancient Greece to discover the origins of the Olympic Games.
The event was very well attended by parents who recognised the effort the pupils put into the performance. One parent said that the performances seem to get better each year and another said that their children really enjoyed the auditions and rehearsals.
Year six teacher Luke Oakes added, “The children have been brilliant. For ten and eleven year-olds to perform the way they have is fantastic. I’m really proud of them all.”
