THE annual Schools Concert took place at Matravers School on Thursday 27th March where parents, governors and several members of Westbury Lions were treated to an amazing display of local talent.
There were children from Westbury Infants, Westbury Juniors, Westbury Leigh, Bitham Brook, Dilton Marsh, Bratton, Chapmanslade and Matravers.
All the schools showed so much enthusiasm and it was easy to see how much they all enjoyed themselves.
There were songs ranging from ‘Can you Feel The Love Tonight?’ to ‘Swinging on a Star’ and everyone were also pleased to see the ukulele band from Westbury Juniors, which gets better every year. The final numbers were sung by all the schools together.
After the concert Lion Karen Hopkins (youth officer) thanked the children and teachers for the hard work they had obviously put in and Lion President Anita Drago presented each school with a cheque for £125.00. Westbury Lions then presented flowers to Jan Ball as she is leaving Westbury Infants after 15 years.
