A WESTBURY man is one of three people who last week appeared in Salisbury Magistrates Court following disorder at the Avon Vale Hunt in Lacock on 27th December 2021.
The police report, “William Richard Renny, 30, of Flint Crescent, Westbury, pleaded guilty to using threatening/abusive /insulting words/behaviour with intent to cause fear of/provoke unlawful violence. He was fined £538 and ordered to pay a £54 surcharge and £85 costs.
“Evan Scott Lorne, 18, of The Lye, Seend, pleaded guilty to using threatening/abusive/insulting words/behaviour with intent to cause fear of/provoke unlawful violence. He was given a £200 fine, ordered to pay £43 surcharge and £390 costs.
“Callum James Lewis, 26, of Wood Lane, Chippenham, pleaded guilty to using threatening/abusive/ insulting words/behaviour with intent to cause fear of/provoke unlawful violence. He was given a £554 fine, ordered to pay a £54 surcharge and £85 costs.”
Andrew Purbrick, 59, of Woodland View, Dilton Marsh, and Adrian Earl, 53, of Quemerford, Calne, were also due to appear at Swindon Magistrates Court this week, on 13th April, in connection with the same incident. At the time of going to press, they had not yet entered pleas.
The police continue, “We’ve undertaken a review of our policing approach regarding this incident and, upon the conclusion of these criminal proceedings, we will publish a summary of this review.”
