A Westbury playgroup has marked its four-year anniversary of regular sessions for local families.
The Little Lights Stay and Play group marked the occasion with a birthday celebration in which families and volunteers made birthday cards, ate cake and sang together.
“I feel so lucky to have been part of Little Lights Stay and Play since it was set up four years ago,” said Judith Newton, the playgroup leader. “It is incredibly rewarding to create a safe, informal and supportive environment where babies and children can play, and their parents can relax and chat.
“Since day one the group has been supported by a dedicated and friendly band of volunteers, all of whom have completed safeguarding training before helping at sessions. Our aim is to ensure that Little Lights continues to thrive. It’s a real team effort!”
The group meets every Thursday afternoon in term time, from 1pm until 2.30pm in the West End Baptist Church Hall. Sessions cost £1.50 per family, and include craft activities, toys, and refreshments. The group will host an Easter party on Thursday 26th March.
