IT’S been a successful year so far for Westbury man, Matt Doughty who has competed at two powerlifting championships.
Matt said, “On Sunday 31st January I competed at the BPO English Powerlifting championships in Aldershot, winning my class and qualifying for the British championships.
“On Sunday 17th April I lifted at the British powerlifting championships in Bridgend, South Wales, with the aim of defending my title and qualifying for the Europeans this coming June. The day went well, winning my class and also breaking the British record for the bench press in my class.
“Now looking forward to the Bodypower Expo in Birmingham NEC in May where I will be benching against some of the best in the world, then on to the European powerlifting championships in June, which is being held in Cardiff.”
