Westbury residents are among a group embarking on a 3-day Ultra Marathon challenge along the Atlantic Coast to raise money for an armed forces charity.
The group, from local company SA Group, will be taking part in the challenge from 4th to 6th October to raise money and awareness for SSAFA – the Armed Forces charity, which supports serving personnel, veterans, and their families. Some of the participants will be running the route, while others will be walking to complete the demanding course.
The Ultra Marathon challenge starts near Padstow, goes through Perranporth and finishes at Land’s End on the final day, with participants able to run or walk the route.
Since SA Group began in 2009, one of the company’s main values has been actively supporting military personnel and veterans.
Westbury resident, Steve Jackson, CEO and founder of SA Group, said, “We are delighted to participate in this challenge for the second year running. It’s great for team building within the company and we are supporting a very worthy cause in SSAFA, who do incredible work in helping those who are serving and their families.”
Karen Briddon, another Westbury resident and finance controller at SA Group, added, “I’m so proud to take part in this challenge on behalf of SA Group and raise money for SSAFA, an incredibly worthy cause. We are so grateful to anyone who can support us.”
