A new four-legged member has joined the school community at Westbury Leigh Primary School, with a therapy goat arriving at the school’s farm.
The school welcomed two-year-old Twix, who grew up on a community farm in Gloucester, where he became a trained therapy goat working with the young and the elderly.
A spokesperson for the school said, “He is already beginning to settle into his new home and make an impact with everyone he meets. He has a wonderful nature and a special ability to connect with those around him.
“Our fabulous animals bring so much to a child’s experience – helping to build confidence, develop communication, encourage responsibility and simply provide a calm, positive presence when it’s needed most.”
The school has its own in-house farm with a range of animals, giving pupils the opportunity to experience and learn outside the classroom in a more natural environment.
