Westbury Golf Club Seniors Section has reported a busy time.
They say, “The Seniors’ Winter League was won in emphatic style by Dennis Dredge. The Seniors Spring Shield was postponed due to the state of the course.
“The Open April Medal was won by Rich Sims with a nett score of 72. The runner-up was Rob Rawlings with a nett score of 75.
“Dave Gilbert was successful in the Open Easter Shield with 35 points.”
“Our first friendly was away against Upavon and we lost by 5 matches to one. Our winning pair was Colin Booth and Mike Frowde. The second friendly was away against Fosseway and we lost again by 3 and a half matches to 2 and a half matches. The winning pairs were Rodney Poolman and Dennis Kidd and Pete Mould and Bob Rawlings. The Dan Knights Cup was won by Rich Sims with a nett score of 74 and the runner-up was Peter Clark with a nett 76.
“For information, the Seniors Captains Day will now take place on Thursday 6th September. The course has recovered from the long spell of bad weather and we will welcome visiting golfers.”
