After achieving promotion in 2024 at the first time of asking, Westbury & District Cricket Club have had a tough start to life in The West of England Premier League, Wiltshire Division.
They have lost their first three games, going down to Corsham on the opening day and following this with defeats to Swindon and Trowbridge.
Against Corsham, West-
bury had two players making their league debuts – overseas allrounder Javon Grosvenor, and left arm leg spinner Charlie Rumistrzewicz.
Corsham hit 229 for 8 in their 50 overs with Javon Grosvenor picking up four wickets, Tom Lucas collecting a pair and Daniel Gill and Rory White one each.
With the bat, Gill reached his 50 off 65 balls before making 58 and Lucas hit 23 but Westbury were all out 78 runs short of the target.

Aidan Wick top scored with 90 and there were useful knocks from Kane Scott with 33 and Javon Grosvenor with 46 as they reached 223 for 8 off their 50 overs.
In reply, two wickets from Tom Lucas and three from Charlie Rumistrzewicz were not enough and Swindon reached the total with four overs to spare.
Last Saturday, 17th May, Westbury entertained neighbours Trowbridge and suffered their third straight defeat. Trowbridge, batting first, reached 269-8 off their 50 overs with the wickets being shared by Javon Grosvenor, Richard Oakley (2), Tom Lucas, Adam Alger and Garic Hopkins plus two run-outs.
