Both Westbury Pool and Leighton Recreation Centre are now open for business and accepting customers. The pool and leisure centre re-opened on September 7th, following their closure on 23rd March as part of the national lockdown.
The opening followed a three-week period of cleaning, marking out safe entrance and exit from both buildings, as well as intensive training for all staff.
The training included the new procedures both operationally, as well as more regular and intense cleaning regimes.
Customers are now asked to book and pay all sessions in advance, to lessen any queues in receptions. All sessions have a reduced capacity, to enable social distancing to be upheld. Not all sessions /activities have been brought back straight away primarily like indoor team sports and fun swims.
Customers at Westbury Pool say they are pleased with the way swimming lessons are being organised.
Richard Woodroofe, a longstanding gym user at Leighton Recreation Centre said he “is very happy to be back and using the gym and is very happy at the measures put in place keep to customers safe and distanced”
Keith Brunsden, the centre manager would like to invite former customers and anybody thinking about using the gym to come and have a look around, to see for themselves the measures taken to keep both customers and staff safe at both centres.
