WESTBURY could soon have a dedicated town warden after a recent meeting saw the town council begin investigating funding for the role.
The council is looking into employing a warden specifically for the town, which has seen issues with maintenance in the past – most recently dog fouling has become a problem.
It is hoped that the warden would maintain public space in the town to a higher standard than at present, and improve perceptions of Westbury.
They would be responsible for areas such as weed control, clearing litter and dog mess, cleaning drains and signs, and making minor repairs such as any to bus shelters and signs.
It is also hoped that the warden could report problems in the town to the council, leading to quicker fixes for issues such as potholes, parking problems, and vandalism.
The council is expected to discuss the matter further this month.
