Honours even in this mid-table encounter which saw the visitors recover from two goals behind to snatch a deserved draw with a 2nd half penalty.
Home midfielder Matt Mead was man of the match for a fully committed performance which saw him cover every blade of grass.
After a slow start to the game Westbury’s Simon Millard took his tally for the season to 10 with both his sides’ goals scored on 15 and 23 minutes. The first came after DJ Wheeler had charged down City keeper Alex Henderson, leaving Millard with an open goal, then a flowing four man move between Callum Cooper, Steven Bryant, and Wheeler set up Millard and he finished smartly.
Teenage goalkeeper Callum Hotine made a confident debut for United and did well to save Jake Brown’s low 25 yarder, but Wells got a goal back on 35 when Ross Padfield was left unmarked and able to head Mark Randall’s corner into the net.
City then dominated the play either side of half time and forced numerous corners which were well defended. Wheeler though did have a fine opportunity on the break but put the ball wide with the break approaching.
Millard pulled wide to the right wing and tried a long ranger which flew wide just before the pressure finally told at the other end on 71 when Jake Brown was fouled by substitute Ashley Styles which allowed Dan Williams to score from the spot to make it 2-2.
United had strong penalty appeals for a handball turned down a few minutes later when Mark Young got into the box and with time running out Hotine produced a great save to deny Tom Manning.
