WESTBURY United welcomed special guest, Dean Windass, to its first Celebrity Sports Dinner last month held at the White Horse Country Park.
Club secretary Duncan Sterling said, “It was a great evening and we were delighted to welcome Dean Windass as our star guest. With 234 goals and 634 appearances for a number of clubs including Bradford City, Middlesborough and Hull City, he wasn’t short of stories from his time as a footballer.
“Around 150 people were at the dinner including local businesses. It was a great evening and a well-organised event. The food was great and we had lots of laughs too. Sports memorabilia was auctioned and comedian Pete Emmett, who compered the evening, did an amazing job.
“We are now working on our next event in May. We hope to see everyone who came along again in May, plus a few more faces who couldn’t make it this time.”
