As the 2024-2025 season heads into the festive period, Westbury United has experienced a rollercoaster of results in their Southern League Division One South campaign.
With four months played, the league table is as tight as ever, with only 11 points separating the teams in playoff contention from those fighting to avoid relegation.
United lie in sixth place with 19 points from 17 games after five wins, four draws and eight defeats. They are one point clear of the bottom four.
“The highlight of the season so far was without doubt the 3-1 victory versus AFC Totton in the FA Cup, part of the club’s best cup run for 21 years!” said Andy Bown from the club.
“In the league the best result was the recent 4-0 victory at Willand Rovers. Unfortunately, results have been very up and down with no consistent run of form.
“The forthcoming few weeks are very busy with four matches over the Christmas to New Year week including Melksham Town away on Boxing Day and home fixtures against Bemerton Heath Harlequins two days later, then Larkhall Athletic on New Year’s Day.”
The club is encouraging fans to turn out in force to support the team and help make the holiday season a successful to help them pull away from the relegation places.
