WESTBURY’S annual Remembrance Day service will take place next Sunday 13th November from 10.15am but there will be no parade this year.
The service, which usually begins with a parade beginning in the Market Place, will this year start with a congregation at the Edward Street war memorial at 10.15am, when the service will take place.
Chair of the Westbury branch of the Royal British Legion, Mary Kneen said, “It’s a shame that we can’t hold the parade as usual, but we were unable to organise a band. However, we’re still looking forward to a special service; they are always well attended and the people of Westbury never fail to do us proud. The High Street has been packed in recent years and it’s a lovely tribute – please come and support us as you always do, to remember all those who gave their lives in conflict.”
The service, led by the Vicar of Dilton Marsh, Reverend Steven Jarvis, will be followed by the wreath laying.
