IT was a record-breaking year for the Lions White Horse Classic and Vintage Vehicle Show on Sunday 4th September.
The 400 vehicles on display attracted thousands of spectators to an event that has established itself as a firm favourite in the Westbury calendar.
The event, at the White Horse Country Park, was jointly organised by Westbury and Trowbridge Lions clubs who were raising funds for local good causes and projects.
Peter Esdaile, president of Westbury Lions club said, “I thought it was a terrific day with a fantastic atmosphere. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves, both the exhibitors showing off their cars and the families who supported the event.
“And what a fantastic range of vehicles from vintage cars through to modern classics.
“I’m a sports car fan so there was so much to choose from but I if I had to pick a favourite it would have to be the Jaguars and, of course, the Marcos cars with their links to Westbury.”
Vintage cars, motor bikes, lorries and static engines from the 1920s up to the modern day were on display under the iconic Westbury White Horse.
“We were spoiled rotten by the weather and, along with the vehicles, the crowds enjoyed the live music with some excellent performances from the stage.
“I would like to say a huge thank you to our sponsors and to all the people from Westbury and Trowbridge Lions clubs and supporters and friends which helped make the event such a success.”
