Wildlife on my doorstep was the subject of the talk by Philip Mugridge to the U3A group on 10th September.
He presented examples of his stunning wildlife photography supported by fascinating anecdotes, details of his photographic techniques and information on the subjects of his photos. Many of the pictures were breath-taking close-ups of birds.
Philip described how the selection and placement of perches and knowledge of what food would attract birds contributed to his success. He also showed amazing photographs of deer, wild boar, foxes and badgers.
In August, members enjoyed lunch at La Campagna Italian restaurant at The Angel Inn, Upton Scudamore. Everyone agreed the meal was delicious and it was an excellent opportunity to get together.
Newcomers will be very welcome to the next meeting on Tuesday 8th October at 2.00pm in the United Reform Church Hall Westbury. The speaker will be the Mayor of Westbury, Cllr Mike Sutton.
U3A (University of the Third Age) is a UK movement of retired and semi-retired people who come together to continue their educational, social and creative interests in a friendly and informal environment.
