Work your mind, body and soul with Elite Martial Arts

ELITE Martial Arts are inviting the Westbury community to come along and exercise their body and minds and learn new skills!

With lessons covering Taekwondo, kickboxing, self defence and advice on being street safe aware, Elite Martial Arts provides the Westbury community with the opportunity to keep fit and to make new friends.

Mike Cruse, owner and trainer of Elite Martial Arts said, “This is a good way to keep fit and it exercises the mind as well.”

Mike’s passion for martial arts began at the age of 15 when he practiced karate at the Bath YMCA. Now, with around 25 years’ experience of martial arts, Mike is a qualified instructor from the British Martial Arts and Boxing Association and is a Black Belt 3rd Dan instructor.

Lessons are open to anyone over the age of eight and since the lessons began at the Westbury Leigh Community Centre three months ago, people of all ages have been signing up to give it a go. “Our youngest members are nine years old and then we have members in their 60s and 70s,” said Mike.

Whilst the lessons can help anyone who comes along with their fitness, Mike feels that children benefit the most. “It helps to motivate children and encourages them to step away from their computers, smartphones and tablets and take part in something that benefits mind, body and soul.

“It’s also a good way to de-stress your teenager,” said Mike.

Mike has recently been joined by a female instructor who will assist him with the lessons at the community centre.

Lessons are every Tuesday from 7.45pm until 8.45pm and cost £6 per hour per person, or £5 per hour per person as a family. The first two lessons are free and there is no joining fee or contract to sign.

A uniform, belt, syllabus, certificate, licence book, membership and grading book all provided for free.
