It was another jam-packed World Book Day at Westbury Junior School on 3rd March.
Hannah Duffy, on behalf of the school said, ”Following on from four authors visiting the children last week, we have dedicated this ‘Book Week’ to celebrating our love of reading with a variety of activities taking place across the school.
“For World Book Day, staff and children arrived in school dressed as their favourite book character. As well as dressing up, we were visited by Westbury Infant School and each class held a ‘Mad Hatter’s Tea Party’ where we enjoyed cakes and read funny stories together. Some children even brought in book-themed bakes!
“We were lucky enough to make it onto the radio as BBC Wiltshire arrived to interview staff and children in Year 5.”
Class teacher and organiser of Book Week Rachel Dardecker said “Reading is such an important life skill but can also be a really fun. The children have loved dressing up and spending the week reading different texts.”
