A local six-year-old girl has completed a bike ride challenge to raise money in memory of her grandad.
Rose Jarrett, a pupil at Bratton Primary School, set herself the ambitious goal of cycling the Two Tunnels route from Bath to Midford to raise money for the Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance and the British Heart Foundation. Rose chose the charities in honour of her late grandpa, hoping her efforts would help others receive lifesaving care.
She recently completed the challenge, cycling the whole distance in just under an hour and raising funds for the two charities.
“I really enjoyed it and helping to raise lots of money for good causes,” said Rose.

“Thank you everyone for helping me, and I’d love to do it again one day – maybe even more miles!”
Rose’s family, teachers and friends have praised her determination. Staff at Bratton Primary School described her as “an inspiration to the whole school community.”
In recognition of her achievement, Rose was invited to visit the air ambulance base in Semington, where crew members showed her around the helicopter and explained how her fundraising will support their vital work.
Rose’s family said she was “absolutely thrilled” by the experience and proud to know the money she raised will help save lives.
Rose is still accepting donations for her challenge at www.justgiving.com/team/RoseJarrett
