Studio Belle held a 12-hour spin-athon on Saturday 19th October to raise funds for Hope Nature Centre, a local charity based in Southwick Country Park, and run by Fairfield Farm College in Dilton Marsh.
This mammoth 12-hour fundraising day saw huge support from the local community, who joined organisers Angie Bell, Liz Bunyard, Alex Mason and the rest of the StudioBelle team in their fundraising efforts. Hundreds of people joined the team for spin classes across the day, with even some firefighters in attendance.
Organisers say, “The team at StudioBelle successfully managed to fundraise a fantastic £6,055 which will go towards installing a new fully accessible wheelchair inclusive swing at Hope Nature Centre.
“Hope Nature Centre helps disabled adults into the workplace by offering traineeships. The aim of these traineeships is to gain valuable experience in both the animal park and café, to help provide them with the skills they may need to secure possible paid employment opportunities.”
Ashleigh Fothergill, assistant manager at Hope Nature Centre said, “The whole team at StudioBelle have been nothing short of amazing, they’ve raised a huge amount of money which will be used to make our animal park even more fun for guests in wheelchairs.”
StudioBelle, based in Warminster, also ran a cake sale, sold t-shirts and got local businesses to sponsor certain classes, all of which helped raise the final total.
Angie Bell, one of the organisers of the event said, “We are unbelievably grateful to everyone who has supported this event, it just shows what our little community can achieve when it sets its mind to something.”
