TWO people were airlifted to hospital last weekend after the motorbike they were riding collided with a car on the Bratton Road.
Emergency services were called at 10.24am on Saturday 16th April to attend the crash on the B3098 between Westbury and Bratton. Both the driver and pillion passenger of the motorbike were taken by air ambulance to Southmead Hospital in Bristol with multiple injuries.
The driver and passenger of the car – a Hyundai ix35 – were uninjured.
Great Western Air Ambulance and Wiltshire Air Ambulance attended the incident, which saw the road closed for three and a half hours.
Local man Steve Carrington was leading the White Horse cleaning project at the time, and says he saw the air ambulances land at the foot of the hill.
Steve told White Horse News, “None of us heard the accident but we saw a lot of emergency service vehicles arrive, and when the helicopters came in to land we realised something serious had happened. We had a direct view from the top of the hill but it was a long way away so we couldn’t see what was happening. Myself and all the volunteers were very concerned and sincerely hope everyone involved is alright.”
