West Wilts Youth Sailing Association is preparing for its 50th year in operation, with the season starting this weekend.
Principal of the club, Peter Harris says, “We are especially excited this year as we are 50 and development works have started on the planned move across the pond. Rail users may have notice the patch of land being cleared opposite the station entrance – this has uncovered a very old sign!
“The membership numbers are strong once more, but we can always find space for interested parties to join us. If you are over 8 years old, we would like to invite you to come and try out sailing with us, please contact membership@wwysa.org.uk for full information. We teach the youngsters the RYA Dinghy syllabus and to extend their experience, we organise weekends to other inland and coastal water.”
The association is also planning their adult course again for the spring; the dates are April 22nd, and May 6th, 13th and 20th. If you are over 18 and would like to learn how to sail please get in touch for more details – membership@wwysa.org.uk
