Awards for the inspiring young people of Westbury and surrounding areas will be celebrated next spring/summer. Following a successful event last year, young people will again be awarded for their outstanding achievements across a variety of categories.
The evening is set to be another inspirational one celebrating various different achievements of the children and young people of Westbury. There will also be the opportunity for them to showcase their talents by entertaining the audience with dancing, singing and music.
Any young person aged 18 and under living in the Westbury Community Area (Westbury, Coulston, Edington, Bratton, Heywood, Hawkeridge and Dilton Marsh) will be eligible to be nominated for an award.
Last year’s categories included Young Achiever Award, Volunteering Award, Young Leader Award, Young Voice Award, School Council Award, Individual Arts Award, Sporting Individual Award, Sporting Team Award, Young Carer Award and finally the Chairman’s Award.
Nominations will be via a secure online portal so it is now time to start thinking about who you would like to nominate. This year’s categories are being finalised and again will range from volunteering through to sporting and personal achievement.
Liam Cripps, community engagement manager for Westbury said, “This event would not be possible without the support of local groups, organisations and business. If you would like to sponsor and present an award on the night and feature in the promotional materials, please get in touch. The suggested minimum sponsorship of an award is £100. Also, if your club or organisation would like to be involved in the entertainment please get in touch.”
