Slimming World’s Woman of the Year competition celebrates the achievements of thousands of women up and down the country who have made long-term healthy lifestyle changes.

“It’s more than just weight-loss, its life-changing,” says Dilton Marsh Woman of the Year, Claire Chambers.

Woman of the Year, Lizzie Lee, from the Westbury Leigh group has slimmed from 20th August 2018 or exactly a year to achieve her target weight. Lizzie, who down-sized from a dress size 18 to a 12, says, “When I first joined the group I never dreamt that I would be in the position I am now. Losing weight has made such a big difference to my life. My health has improved, I have more energy, I’m happier and I feel more comfortable and confident in my own skin.”

Juliet Morgan who runs the Leigh Park group, says, “I’m so proud of Lizzie. She’s a fantastic ambassador for Slimming World and what she’s achieved is nothing short of incredible”.

Lizzie joined Slimming World when her baby boy was just 3 months old after feeling unhappy about her size. “I had seen a picture that was taken on the 8th August 2018 3 months post pregnancy and this made me realise that it was time to make some significant changes in my life and finally puck up the courage to go to Slimming World, I had tried a number of different ways to lose weight but they usually left me feeling hungry or miserable – or both, in fact. With Slimming World it’s completely different.

Lisa Stuart, the 5.30pm group winner for Dilton Marsh has made an incredible change in just 12 weeks. She says, “Joining Slimming World was a difficult step to make, but Katherine made me feel comfortable and was extremely approachable. Coming along with friends and family makes a difficult first step so much easier. The groups are so friendly and supportive. I would recommend Slimming World to everyone.”

Claire Chambers, Dilton’s 7.30pm Woman of the Year achieved her Target weight in just 17 weeks, losing an incredible 2 stone 2.1lbs. She says, ‘I never dreamt that I would reach my target in so little time. Slimming World has changed my life. It has given me the confidence to wear a bikini for the first time in years – having gone from a size 16 to a size 12!’.

Katherine Storey, who runs the Dilton Marsh group says, “I am constantly inspired by all of my members. It can feel very daunting walking through the doors whether its your first time, second, third… both Lisa and Claire are fantastic examples that the Slimming World plan is accessible for all and is something that can be part of your everyday life. Truly amazing!”

The Leigh Park Community Centre Slimming World group is held every Monday at 3.30pm, 5.30pm and 7.30pm at the Leigh Park Community Centre and the Dilton Marsh Slimming World group is held every Tuesday at 5.30pm and 7.30pm at Fairfield Farm College.  To join or find out more call Juliet on 07747 190279 or Katherine on 07887 690800.
