WESTBURY lad, JJ Smith has taken on another karate challenge, this time during lockdown, raising a further £300 for the charity Crohns and Colitis Uk.
For the challenge, 11-year-old JJ trained with 26 online instructors, including Matthew Hyndman who is the head coach of the WKU England team. Matthew invited JJ to train with the team he has also been completing online lessons with Matthew and Harley Cottis the WKU England junior captain and current triple world champion.
JJ trains with his local Westbury club, Wiltshire Shotokan Karate Club, formerly Kime Karate Club
In February, White Horse News reported on a fundraising sparathon, which JJ did alongside his younger brother, Shayne, raising £1,000 for Crohn’s and Colitis UK.
JJ was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease three years ago and began fundraising for the charity to help others. He has now been presented with the Alex Demain lifetime awareness award for his dedication to raising funds and awareness for Crohns and Colitis UK.
