THE South Wilts Slimming World team say they are back in force, helping members return to groups to chase their weight loss dreams, knowing the rigorous risk assessments are in place.
The team report, “Being away from our groups made us even more aware of how powerful our real life groups are. The inspiration, motivation, support and guidance in such difficult times is a key focus going forward. As a team, and as individual members; we understand how hard lockdown has been and returning to groups and working with our members has highlighted the importance of food optimising alongside mental health.’
“Slimming World has numerous motivational tools to support members’ needs and the latest version of the Slimming World app now has a barcode scanner.
“It can make shopping a rather fun experience and, at the same time, eye-opening. We are on a continuous learning journey around food optimising as ingredients are always changing. There may have been a time where a food has had a lower syn value and a quick scan highlights the change. The results have been staggering.
“Members’ response to being back in group has been overwhelmingly positive, with many saying how pleased they are to be back and that the loneliness experienced during lockdown highlighted the importance of returning to group.”
One member stated, “I felt alone without my group and felt I couldn’t continue my weight loss on my own. Now back in group, back supporting and motivating each other has meant I am losing weight again, getting new ideas, recipes and strategies and I feel so positive going forward.”
Groups are being held in Devizes, Hilperton, Westbury and Warminster: including morning and evening groups Monday to Saturday (no groups held on Sundays). For more information visit slimmingworld.co.uk
