A WESTBURY volunteer has been working hard throughout the pandemic to raise money and donate food to local families in need.
Between August and the end of November, Radek Evans and his project, nicknamed ‘Robin Hood Giveaway’, has helped save 7,129 items of food, weighing 631kg, from landfill, by collecting donations of food from two local supermarkets and a bakery.
All the food collected has been hand-delivered, in a Covid-secure manner by Radek, to families that are struggling.
And in the run up to Christmas, Radek is looking for more families in need – and has told White Horse News that he would like to help support 10 families with a donation of food for Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
To support his efforts, Radek has also set up an online clothes shop called ‘Rad Fab Fashion’, with all money raised from sales going towards his Christmas food project and other charities he supports.
“So far all these families have been grateful,” said Radek, “especially two families that are in isolation and can’t get out to shop or get delivery online. And some have said I am a lifeline.
“I am looking for more families so please like and private message ‘Robin Hood Giveaway’ on Facebook. I am also planning to feed 10 families on Christmas Day and Boxing Day. I would like to feed more, but my budget is low.
“Also, I have set up a online clothes shop called Rad Fab Fashion selling brand new clothes – profits raised will go to charity, but if there are any families struggling to buy clothes, you can get it from me cheaper than I am selling it for.”
