A WESTBURY Town Council task and finish group will be formed to clear up members’ confusion over the constitution of an umbrella group working to bring about community change through resident-led action.
The council had asked its policy and resources (P&R) committee to revisit the terms of reference for Open Westbury and consider its relationship to the council, status as a member of Open Westbury and what should be included in the group’s constitution.
On Monday 1st February, P&R members unanimously approved a proposal by chair, cllr Ward Jones that a task and finish group should be formed to tackle the issue.
Cllr Ian Cunningham raised questions that the group will need to look at, including who gets to participate in Open Westbury and whether anyone keeps a record of staff time accrued at meetings etc and whether this is reported back to a committee.
The meeting heard that an Open Westbury Facebook site had around 400 members – individuals and organisations
The focus of Open Westbury is to bring the town together and look forward to thriving together in the coming years.
