THE Soul Space café meets, held in the Holy Trinity Church in Dilton Marsh, are now running monthly rather than weekly during the winter months and Tess Brocksopp, the Lay Pastoral Assistant is trying to get more people involved.
Tess says, “Our Soul Space cafe at Holy Trinity was relaunched last year. Volunteers were ‘safely recruited’ as ‘hosts’ and completed relevant safeguarding training.
“We have a lovely warm, peaceful space in our Lady Chapel where we hold Soul Space on the first Monday (2pm – 4pm) of each month. We offer tea, coffee and cakes, without charge, made by members of our congregation.
“We welcome people of all ages and abilities and are delighted to meet newcomers to the village. Some of our visitors like to sit and chat; hosts are always on hand to listen. Others enjoy a jigsaw or a game of Scrabble or participating in other games which have been donated. Children, who have joined us after school, have enjoyed colouring, crafts and origami.
“Soul Space is a good opportunity for our church to open its doors and welcome all in our village and the local community. It certainly fills a need, after so many months of Covid lockdowns and isolation.
“Our next Soul Space afternoons will be on 7th February; 7th March and 4th April. Do come along and join us. Everyone is very welcome!”
