RUNNERS from across Westbury and the surrounding areas will be making their way to the White Horse Country Park next month for the Westbury Lions Club 10k run.
The race is taking place at 10am on Sunday 9th October and all proceeds raised on the day will be going to local charities and causes. There is still time to get your entry in for the race; just visit the Lions website at www.westburylions10k.org. It costs £10 to register in advance and £12 to register on the day. Organisers have said they have already had more signups to the 10k race than at this stage last year.
Westbury Lions President, Peter Esdaile said, “We’ve had plenty of signups so far this year, we’re just hoping to be blessed with some good weather on the day. Thank you to everyone who has signed up already, and for those that are yet to register, there is still plenty of time. I look forward to seeing all the runners on the day.”
The route is a fairly level run comprising mixed terrain, proceeding around the boundary of the country park before heading to Bratton and then along Capps Lane back to the country park. Marshals will be in attendance along the route to guide and assist runners.
