PUPILS at Bratton Primary School’s lunchtime club for children of those serving in the armed forces, Little Troopers, have been busy creating ‘hugs’ for their parents.
The hugs were made with the children’s handprints and included messages of love and pictures.
A school spokesperson said, “At Bratton School, our lovely Year 5/6 teacher Mrs Hawke runs our wonderfully successful Little Troopers lunchtime club, where military children from all year groups are invited to join other military children to have lunch, play games, and celebrate all things forces.
“The aim of the club is to ensure all service children at Bratton Primary School feel supported and have the opportunity to share their experiences in a safe place, over lunch with like-minded friends.
“During a recent lunch club, the children all made a hug for their parents serving in the military. The hugs were made with their handprints and included messages of love and beautiful colourings.”
Little Troopers is a registered charity supporting all military children who have parent(s) serving in our British Armed Forces, regular or reserve.
These children often face unique challenges including frequent house and school moves, as well as regular periods of separation from their serving parent(s) for varying lengths of time due to exercises, training, operations and other service commitments.
As a charity, Little Troopers ensures our British Armed Forces children and their families have access to child-focused support, providing fundamental resources and initiatives.
