DOROTHY House has three exciting events and challenges for local people to take part in this year to raise some much-needed funds for the charity – an ice bath challenge, the Men’s Walk to Support and the annual Bath Half Marathon.
First up is the ice bath challenge on 2nd February at the Glove Factory Studios in Holt; the challenge is the ultimate ice breaker if you are looking to step outside of your comfort zone.
Dorothy House says, “You will be taken through a one-hour breathing method by a certified Win Hof Instructor, to prepare you for the challenge. You will then take on the challenge and submerge in the ice bath for two minutes.
“There are so many proven benefits of the Wim Hof Method and taking ice baths, both mentally and physically. The Wim Hof Method is about reconnecting us – to ourselves, to others and to nature. You can feel happier, healthier and stronger, when you follow the method over a period.”
The Men’s Walk to Support is taking place on 9th March at Dorothy House Winsley. The event is an eight-mile walk is for those aged eight and older to join together in solidarity and raise vital funds for end-of-life care in our local community.
The charity says, “Team up with your brother, your son, your dad, your best mates, or take on the walk solo – it’s up to you! The Men’s Walk to Support is a great chance to chat and share experiences with fellow participants while supporting our vital work at Dorothy House Hospice Care.”
The main event for 2024 is the annual Bath Half Marathon which is taking place on 17th March in Bath City Centre. The charity says, “We’d love you to join Team Dotty in Bath Half Marathon 2024 to help raise vital funds.”
