MANUFACTURER Welton Bibby & Baron are currently moving into their new Westbury home on the West Wilts Trading Estate.
The company is the largest manufacturer of paper bags, carrier bags, and printed paper on roll in the UK. It has taken over the former Comet building at 1 Quartermaster Road, and work on the site has included extending the storage capacity and refurbishing the main building.
The company is moving its 300-strong workforce from its premises in Midsomer Norton. Managing Director Malcolm Ross said, “The relocation is well under way with all of the office staff and approximately 50% of the machinery already transferred to Westbury from Midsomer Norton. We expect the remaining equipment to be relocated during the next four months.”
Welton, Bibby, & Baron supply paper bags to customers all over the world. Products include retail and point-of sale bags, heat sealed and protective bags, fast food and take-away bags, pharmacy bags, bread bags, and pet food bags. Their customers include John Lewis, Marks & Spencers, PG Tips and Typhoo.
