AT the start of our meeting we welcomed a new member. After the business side of things we welcomed our speaker, John Craig, a retired fire officer who gave his talk the title of “Going to Blazes” and kept all our members entertained with the lighter side of his 37 years’ service with quite a few laughs.
Next month’s meeting is our annual Garden Party, with lovely food provided by members attending. Future meetings will be a talk by Age UK, pottery talk, demonstration and practical, visit to an auction house and traditional and Victorian Christmas.
We also hope to start skittles shortly and we have a book club that meets once a month in a member’s house.
So if you are new to the area and/or would like to come along and hear what we get up to, we promise you a warm welcome and friendly chatter over a cuppa and a biscuit.
